Essential cookies

Required for the site to work, so they are not covered by the consent banner. We set these ourselves — the previous version of this page attributed them to our hosting provider, which was not accurate.

• region— remembers which country's prices to show you. Set on your first visit, kept for a year.
• gog_sid — only if you sign in through Steam. Holds your Steam ID so the page knows you are signed in. Expires after seven days, or immediately when you sign out.
• gog_oidc — only during a Steam sign-in. A short-lived security value that stops someone else completing a sign-in in your browser. Lasts ten minutes and is cleared as soon as sign-in finishes.
• gog_auth— only if you sign in through Steam. Contains the single character “1” and nothing else. It exists so the “Sign out” link can appear in the header on every page: the cookie above is hidden from the page for security, so without this one the site cannot tell whether to offer you the link. It is cleared when you sign out and when you close your browser.

The three Steam cookies are only ever set if you choose to use the recommendations feature, and they exist solely to deliver it — so they are strictly necessary in the sense the rules use, and sit outside the consent banner. They are not used for analytics, advertising or tracking you between sites.

Analytics cookies

Set by Google Analytics. These track aggregate usage — pages visited, time on site, and device type. Data is anonymised and used only to improve the site. No personally identifiable information is stored.

Store link tracking

Store links marked with a gold coin icon are affiliate links, tracked so that a purchase can be credited to this site. This happens in one of two ways, and only when you actively click the link — nothing is set just from browsing.

• Affiliate networks(Adtraction for GOG, Impact for Humble Bundle) redirect you via their own domain and set a cookie there. These cookies are governed by the network's own privacy policy, not ours.
• Epic Games Store links work differently: there is no network and no redirect. Our Support-A-Creator tag travels in the web address itself, and Epic handles attribution on its own systems under Epic's privacy policy. Blocking cookies does not prevent this, because it does not rely on one.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the site. Blocking affiliate cookies means we will not be credited if you buy through a network link, but prices and deals will work as normal. Note that Epic Games Store attribution is carried in the link itself rather than by a cookie, so blocking cookies does not stop it — avoid the link if you would rather we were not credited.
